Each segment has two independent choices: its length, which is a positive integer, and its cost coefficient, which is given in advance as a list c. If a segment has length L and uses coefficient c_i, its contribution to the total cost is c_i multiplied by L. The path must move exactly n units to the right in total and exactly n units upward in total, so the sum of horizontal segment lengths is n and the sum of vertical segment lengths is also n.

The goal is to choose how many segments to use, how to alternate them, and how to distribute lengths across them so that the total weighted cost is minimized.

The constraint that there are at most n segments is not the hard part. The real structure comes from the fact that segment i always uses coefficient c_i in order, regardless of whether it becomes a horizontal or vertical segment. For each configuration, computing cost is straightforward. The number of ways to partition n units into k positive parts grows combinatorially, and summing over all k makes this completely infeasible even for small n.

The key observation is that once the sequence of coefficients is fixed, the only freedom that matters is how total horizontal distance n and total vertical distance n are distributed across odd and even indexed segments. Every odd-indexed segment contributes to one axis and every even-indexed segment contributes to the other, depending on whether we start with horizontal or vertical movement.

This converts the problem into a resource allocation problem. For a fixed number of segments k, odd positions have a total length budget of n split across ceil(k/2) segments, and even positions have the same structure with floor(k/2). Algorithm Walkthrough

We process each test case independently and compute the answer by trying all possible numbers of segments k.

  1. Precompute prefix information over the coefficient array. We maintain prefix sums for odd indices and even indices separately, and also track the minimum coefficient seen so far in odd and even positions. This allows us to evaluate any prefix length k in constant time.
  2. For each possible k from 1 to n, interpret the first k coefficients as defining k segments. Split them into odd-indexed and even-indexed groups according to their positions in the sequence.
  3. Consider the case where the path starts with a horizontal segment. In this case, odd-indexed segments correspond to horizontal movement and even-indexed segments correspond to vertical movement.
  4. For this configuration, compute the base cost as the sum of all coefficients multiplied by a unit length for each segment. Then account for extra length distribution: the total horizontal distance is n, so after giving each horizontal segment length 1, we still need to distribute remaining length among horizontal segments. This extra cost is minimized by assigning all remaining horizontal length to the smallest coefficient among horizontal segments. The same logic applies to vertical segments.
