This leads to a prefix feasibility condition: as we scan from left to right, whenever we decide what value must appear at position i in b, we must ensure that by that point in a we have already seen enough elements to support it. However, because segment sorting can reorder within any interval, the correct abstraction is that we are allowed to take available elements and rearrange them as long as we respect relative availability constraints.
A clean way to encode this is to simulate processing of values while maintaining a multiset of “active segments” induced by positions where we are forced to match b. The classic solution reduces the problem to checking whether we can greedily assign elements while respecting that we can only delay elements, not invent or destroy them.

Algorithm Walkthrough
