The brute-force idea is straightforward conceptually: for each function, locate all its jump positions by repeatedly finding the next point where the function increases, effectively reconstructing all L increments. Once the full structure is known, one could greedily carve out contiguous segments along the x-axis. This works because each function is completely determined by its jump set, so explicit reconstruction makes the problem trivial.
The issue is cost. Each jump requires a binary search over a range up to 10^18, costing about 60 queries. Doing this L times per function is impossible since L can be enormous, and even doing it only for L total jumps across all functions is far beyond the limit.
The key observation is that we do not need full reconstruction. We only need, for each function, to find a single threshold point where it accumulates L/n increases from some starting position. Because the function is monotone with unit steps, this reduces to a classic “k-th 1 position” query problem: we can binary search for the smallest x where f_i(x) ≥ target.
This lets us compress each function into a single critical coordinate. Once each function contributes one such coordinate, the existence guarantee in the problem ensures that these coordinates can be ordered into a valid non-overlapping segmentation.

Algorithm Walkthrough
We reduce each function into a single key position: the earliest point where it accumulates L/n increases from zero.
- For each function i, we compute the target value T = L/n. This is the number of increments we want to capture inside its interval.
- For each function i, we binary search on x in the range [0, 10^18] to find the smallest position r_i such that f_i(r_i) ≥ T. Each check uses a query to the interactor.
- After computing all r_i, we sort the functions by r_i in increasing order. This gives an ordering of where each function “reaches” its required mass of increments.

The crucial non-obvious step is the sorting by r_i. Without ordering, the intervals would overlap arbitrarily. The sorted structure forces a consistent left-to-right decomposition of the number line.

Edge Cases
When n = 1, the entire interval must be assigned to a single function. The algorithm still performs a binary search for the L-th increment position, and the resulting interval naturally becomes [0, r_1], which is valid.
