Problem Understanding

After all bombs are applied, every cell is either hit at least once or never touched. On top of this grid, we are given multiple ship queries. Each ship is a contiguous segment of cells, either horizontal in a fixed row or vertical in a fixed column.
For each ship, we must classify it based on how it intersects the bombed cells. If none of its cells lie in any bombed rectangle, it is MISS. If all of its cells are bombed, it is SUNK. Otherwise, if at least one cell is bombed but not all, it is HIT.
The key difficulty is that both the grid and the number of rectangles are large. A direct marking of every cell inside every rectangle is impossible because the grid can be as large as $10^5 \times 10^5$, which makes explicit simulation infeasible. Similarly, checking each ship cell-by-cell is also too slow since there can be up to $2 \cdot 10^5$ queries.
A naive approach would try to maintain a full grid or explicitly expand all rectangles. Even a slightly better approach that checks each ship cell individually leads to worst-case complexity $O(NM + S \cdot \text{length})$, which is far beyond limits.

Approaches
A brute-force solution would explicitly construct the grid or simulate rectangle updates by iterating over every cell inside each bombed rectangle. That immediately becomes infeasible because a single rectangle can cover up to $10^{10}$ cells in the worst case. Even if we only conceptually store the grid, checking a ship requires scanning a full row or column segment, leading to up to $2 \cdot 10^5 \times 10^5$ operations in the worst case.
The key observation is that we never need the full 2D picture. For a fixed row $r$, only rectangles that intersect that row matter, and their effect reduces to intervals on columns. Similarly, for a fixed column, each rectangle becomes an interval on rows.
This transforms the problem into two independent families of 1D interval coverage problems: one over rows for vertical queries and one over columns for horizontal queries. Each rectangle contributes an interval to a row-indexed structure and a column-indexed structure.
Now each query reduces to asking how much of a given segment is covered by a union of intervals. For a segment $[l, r]$, we need both whether it is fully covered and whether it is partially covered. This can be answered efficiently if we preprocess each row and each column into merged, disjoint intervals and build prefix coverage information.
We sort intervals per row (and per column), merge overlaps, and compute a prefix structure that allows us to quickly query total covered length inside a segment. Then each ship query becomes a logarithmic or constant-time check depending on implementation: compare total covered length with segment length, and also check whether any intersection exists.

Algorithm Walkthrough
We separate processing into two symmetric structures: one for rows and one for columns.
- For every bombed rectangle, we process its projection onto rows. For each row $x$ in $[x_1, x_2]$, we add an interval $[y_1, y_2]$. This represents all columns in that row that are bombed by this rectangle.
- Similarly, we process its projection onto columns. For each column $y$ in $[y_1, y_2]$, we add an interval $[x_1, x_2]$. This captures all rows affected in that column.
- We group all intervals by row and by column. For each fixed row, we merge overlapping column intervals into disjoint segments. The same is done for each column with row intervals.
- After merging, for each row we build a prefix structure over its disjoint intervals that allows us to compute total covered length in a query range. This typically stores cumulative covered cells up to each segment.
- For each horizontal ship query on row $l$ spanning $[c_1, c_2]$, we compute how much of this interval is covered using the row structure. If covered length is zero, the result is MISS. If it equals full length, it is SUNK. Otherwise it is HIT.
- For each vertical ship query on column $c$ spanning $[l_1, l_2]$, we do the same using the column structure.
The key idea is that every rectangle becomes a collection of 1D intervals, and every query becomes a range coverage query against a union of disjoint segments.
Why it works
Each bombed rectangle contributes exactly the correct coverage in both row-wise and column-wise projections. After merging overlaps, every bombed cell is included in exactly one disjoint segment per row or column.
