Problem Understanding
We need to count stripe sequences built from four colors: black, red, white, and yellow.
A sequence is valid if it satisfies several local restrictions. Equal adjacent colors are forbidden. White cannot touch yellow. Red cannot touch black. The length-3 patterns BWR and RWB are forbidden as well.
Two flags are considered identical if one is the reverse of the other. For example, WB and BW represent the same flag.
The input gives two integers, L and R. We must count all distinct valid flags whose number of stripes lies between L and R, inclusive. The answer is required modulo 10^9 + 7.
The upper bound is the real difficulty. R can be as large as 10^9, so any solution that processes lengths one by one is impossible. Even an O(R) DP is far too slow. We need something logarithmic in R, which strongly suggests matrix exponentiation or linear recurrences.
The symmetry condition is another subtle part. A common mistake is to count all valid sequences and divide by two. That fails for palindromes, because a palindrome is its own reverse and should not be halved.

Another easy bug is mishandling the forbidden triples. The restriction is directional in wording, but both directions are explicitly banned.

A third trap is assuming every state only depends on the previous color. The triple restriction depends on the last two colors, so a DP using only the final stripe loses information.
For example, after BW, appending R is illegal, but after YW, appending R is legal. Both prefixes end in W, yet behave differently.
Approaches
The brute-force approach generates every sequence of length n, checks all constraints, and stores one representative from each reversal pair.
There are 4^n total sequences. Even with pruning, growth is exponential. At n = 30, this already exceeds one billion possibilities. Since R may reach 10^9, exhaustive generation is completely hopeless.
The next observation is that all restrictions are local. Whether we may append a new color depends only on the previous two colors. That means the process can be modeled as transitions between small states.
Define a state as the last two colors. There are only 4 * 4 = 16 such pairs, and many are invalid. From one pair we either may or may not append a new color.
This immediately gives a finite automaton. Counting valid strings of length n becomes counting walks of length n - 2 in this graph.
If the problem only asked for ordinary sequences, matrix exponentiation on this transition graph would already solve it in O(log R) time.
The symmetry condition changes the counting formula. We cannot simply divide by two because palindromes behave differently.
The key insight is Burnside's lemma. The reversal operation forms a group of size two:

The number of distinct flags equals:
(all valid sequences + valid palindromes) / 2
So the task splits into two independent counts:
- Count all valid sequences.
- Count valid palindromes.
Both counts satisfy linear recurrences derived from the same transition structure, so both can be computed with matrix exponentiation.

- Encode the four colors as integers.
We use:

The only possible neighbors allowed by adjacency restrictions force contradictions with the forbidden pairs. After checking possibilities, only length 1 and length 3 palindromes survive.

Why it works
The DP state contains exactly the information needed to decide future legality: the last two colors. Every restriction only involves adjacent pairs or triples, so no older information matters.
The transition graph enumerates all and only legal extensions. Every valid sequence corresponds to one unique path in the graph, and every graph walk reconstructs a valid sequence.
Burnside's lemma is correct because reversal is the only symmetry operation. Sequences fixed by reversal are precisely palindromes. Non-palindromic sequences form pairs with their reverses, contributing one distinct flag each. Palindromes contribute individually.

The code first constructs all legal ordered pairs. Those pairs become DP states.
The transition matrix encodes every valid way to append one more stripe. Since legality depends only on the previous two colors, this graph completely describes the problem.
count_all(n) computes the number of valid sequences of exact length n. The vector initially represents all valid length-2 sequences. Raising the transition matrix to power n - 2 advances the automaton by the required number of steps.
The matrix size is tiny, so cubic matrix multiplication is perfectly fine.
The palindrome count is handled separately. A direct characterization is much simpler than building another automaton. Only lengths 1 and 3 contribute nonzero values.
The final formula applies Burnside's lemma using modular division by 2. Since the modulus is prime, dividing by 2 means multiplying by (MOD + 1) // 2.
One subtle point is the transition direction. State (a, b) moves to (b, c), not (a, c). Forgetting to shift the window breaks the recurrence completely.
Another easy mistake is counting all 16 pairs as valid states. Pairs violating adjacency rules must never appear in the automaton.
