Each volunteer has a timer that evolves deterministically. At time x, the value at position i is (a_i + x) mod m. The volunteer at position i is only actively watching Hector when this value is 0. If Hector is standing on position i at the start of a second while the timer is 0, he is immediately caught.
The key difficulty is that Hector can move left and right, meaning he is not forced to pass positions in order. He can delay progress, wait for safe moments, or even retreat to earlier positions to avoid bad timings.
The task is to determine whether there exists any sequence of moves that allows Hector to go from position 0 to position n+1 without ever being on a guarded position at a time when that guard’s timer is zero.
The constraints are large: total n across test cases is up to 2⋅10^5 and m is up to 10^9. This immediately rules out any simulation over time or state-space search over (position, time), since time can be arbitrarily large and movement choices create a huge graph.
A naive BFS over states (i, t mod m) is impossible because the time dimension is unbounded and m is too large to expand.
A subtle edge case arises from the ability to move left. Many incorrect greedy approaches assume Hector must pass positions in order, but moving left can be used to “desynchronize” time from position constraints.
For example, if a position i becomes unsafe exactly when Hector would normally arrive there in a straight path, a naive solution might say “blocked”, but waiting elsewhere or oscillating can shift arrival time and avoid the bad moment.
Another tricky case is when a_i is already zero. Then position i is dangerous at time 0. If Hector cannot delay reaching it until a safe time congruent to i’s arrival parity, the answer becomes NO, even if later positions are safe.
Approaches
A brute-force strategy would try to simulate Hector’s movement as a shortest-path problem on states (position, time). From each state, we branch into three moves. Each move advances time by 1, and we check whether landing on a position is safe.
This is correct in principle because it explores all possible strategies. However, time is unbounded, and even if we cap time artificially, the number of states becomes O(n·T), where T would need to be large enough to represent meaningful cycles. Since m can be up to 10^9, any attempt to incorporate time modulo m still yields an O(nm) structure, which is impossible.
The key observation is that Hector’s movement only depends on the parity of how long he stays in each segment and whether each position can be visited at some safe time. The ability to move left means we are not constrained to a single increasing path; instead, each position i only imposes a constraint on whether Hector can ever arrive there at a time t such that (a_i + t) mod m ≠ 0.
Rewriting the constraint, position i is safe at time t if t ≠ -a_i (mod m). This means each position forbids a single infinite arithmetic progression of times.
The crucial insight is that Hector can always choose to “delay” arrival to position i by bouncing between i−1 and i, effectively shifting arrival time by any number of extra seconds. So for each position, what matters is whether there exists any time t ≥ base_time(i) such that t avoids the forbidden residue class modulo m at that position while still allowing forward progress.
This reduces the problem to a greedy feasibility check: we simulate moving from left to right, tracking the earliest time Hector can reach each position. If we ever hit a position where the earliest possible arrival time is forced into the single forbidden congruence class modulo m in a way that cannot be delayed further, we fail.
The structure simplifies further: each position i blocks exactly one time modulo m. Since Hector can wait arbitrarily at position i−1 before stepping into i, he can choose any arrival time t ≥ current_time + 1. Therefore, position i is only impossible if every t ≥ current_time + 1 satisfies t ≡ bad_i (mod m), which is never true. So the only real failure happens when current_time + 1 already lands exactly on the forbidden time and m = 1, but m ≥ 2, so direct blocking does not occur.
Thus, the true constraint becomes global: conflicts only matter when two consecutive constraints force an unavoidable collision in timing alignment across positions. This leads to the known simplification: we track whether a linear forward pass is possible, checking if we can always choose a non-forbidden arrival time at each step, which is always possible unless the starting alignment forces an impossible synchronization across the entire chain.
This collapses to checking whether there exists any i such that the straight-time arrival i violates the constraint AND no detour via left movement can shift parity enough to avoid all constraints simultaneously. In practice, the problem reduces to checking whether the direct path is already safe at every position.
So we end up verifying whether Hector can simply move right every second, possibly with a global offset achieved by initial waiting, which shifts all arrival times uniformly.
We test all possible global shifts only implicitly by checking whether there exists a shift t0 such that for every i, (t0 + i) mod m ≠ -a_i mod m. This becomes a classic forbidden residue alignment problem, but since there is only one forbidden residue per i, a valid shift exists unless contradictions overlap in a structured way that prevents any consistent assignment.
This can be reduced to checking feasibility of congruences, which ultimately simplifies to verifying that no forced collision pattern exists, and this can be done in O(n).

Algorithm Walkthrough

The key reason this works is that every strategy for Hector can be transformed into a strategy with a single initial waiting time t0 followed by continuous right movement. Any detours left or waits in the middle only affect t0, not the structure of constraints, because movement is uniform in time and each position imposes a single modular restriction on arrival time.
Why it works
Each position contributes exactly one forbidden residue class for the global offset t0. Hector’s path can always be normalized into a monotone right-moving path with some initial delay. This normalization preserves safety constraints because only arrival times matter, not intermediate oscillations. Therefore the problem reduces to checking whether the union of forbidden residues covers the entire modulo space. If it does, no starting delay works; otherwise, at least one delay avoids all collisions.

The solution reduces the entire movement problem into computing a modular constraint per position. The loop computes the forbidden starting delay for each guard, encoding the exact moment when Hector would collide with that guard if he followed a straight increasing path.
The set collects all distinct forbidden offsets. If all residues modulo m are covered, every possible starting delay causes at least one collision, making escape impossible. Otherwise, a safe offset exists.
The only subtle implementation detail is careful 1-indexing in the formula, since position i corresponds to time i after starting movement.

Edge Cases
