Non-obvious edge cases include intervals where no single element satisfies b[i] >= v but a combination does. For example, b = [1, 2, 4] with v = 7 has no single-element good interval, but [1,3] satisfies 1|2|4 = 7. Careless solutions might only check individual elements rather than intervals, producing -1 incorrectly. Similarly, updates to b may create or destroy multiple good intervals, so any preprocessing must support dynamic updates.

Approaches

The brute-force approach iterates over all subarrays [l_0, r_0] inside [l, r] for type-2 queries, computes the OR of the corresponding b segment, and tracks the maximum in a. Each type-2 query can require O(n^2) OR and max calculations. With up to 2×10^5 queries and n up to 2×10^5, this is completely infeasible. Updates in type-1 queries do not help, as any preprocessing is invalidated unless we recompute everything.

The key insight is that the OR operation is monotone: extending an interval to the right never decreases the OR. This allows a two-pointer approach. We can maintain the smallest interval starting at each l whose OR reaches v by advancing a right pointer r until the OR reaches or exceeds v. Once we know the intervals that satisfy the OR condition, we only need the maximum a[i] over that interval. To handle multiple queries efficiently, we can preprocess a into a segment tree or sparse table for range maximum queries, and maintain b in a structure that supports efficient incremental OR calculation.

The final strategy combines these insights: for each query, we use a two-pointer method to find minimal right endpoints for all starting positions within [l, r], then query the segment tree for the maximum a[i] over those intervals. Updates to b only require updating the OR computation for future queries.
