For each query segment, we are allowed to repeatedly apply a very specific transformation: pick any subsegment of odd length, compute the XOR of all values inside it, and overwrite the entire chosen subsegment with that XOR value.
The goal per query is to determine the minimum number of such operations needed to turn every element in the queried subarray into zero. If this is impossible, we report that fact.
The operation is unusual because it does not preserve individual values. Instead, it collapses a whole odd-length interval into a single repeated value equal to its XOR. This makes the system feel closer to a parity-based compression process than a standard range update problem.
The constraints push us toward a solution that is close to linear per query at best. With up to 2⋅10^5 elements and 2⋅10^5 queries, any solution that recomputes information per query in O(length) will time out. Since the only allowed subsegments must have odd length, a single element can be chosen but its value becomes XOR of itself, so it does not change. Another non-trivial failure mode appears when the total XOR of a segment is nonzero. Many incorrect solutions assume that global XOR being zero is sufficient for full reduction, but the operation constraints introduce parity structure that makes this insufficient.

For each query, we could repeatedly pick any odd segment, compute its XOR, and apply the update until the segment becomes all zeros or no progress is possible. This degenerates into cubic behavior over large inputs, which is far beyond limits.
The key observation is that the operation is linear over XOR and always replaces a segment with a constant value derived from its XOR. This means we are not tracking values directly, but rather how XOR aggregates over partitions. The problem reduces to reasoning about whether the segment can be partitioned into a small number of groups whose XOR structure allows progressive collapse to zero.
A deeper structural result used in the intended solution is that every segment can be classified by two properties: its total XOR, and whether it can be decomposed into balanced subsegments whose XOR structure allows recursive cancellation. After simplification, the answer depends only on prefix XOR information and a small number of structural checks per query, enabling O(1) query evaluation after preprocessing.
The final solution uses prefix XORs plus a sparse table (or hashing-like preprocessing of prefix occurrences) to quickly detect whether there exists a split point that enables a two-step collapse, and whether the full segment already satisfies the trivial impossible conditions.

- If the segment XOR is zero, the segment can always be reduced in exactly one operation if its length is greater than 1. This comes from selecting the entire segment and collapsing it once.
- If the segment XOR is nonzero but length is even, we check whether there exists a split point that partitions the segment into two parts with equal XOR prefix structure. If such a split exists, the segment can be reduced in two operations; otherwise it is impossible.
The subtle reasoning is that the operation behaves like collapsing parity-balanced intervals. One operation can eliminate structure only if it aligns with XOR symmetry, otherwise we need a two-step decomposition.
Why it works
The invariant behind the solution is that each operation preserves the XOR of the entire segment while potentially reducing the number of distinct “active parity boundaries” inside it. The process of repeatedly collapsing odd-length XOR intervals can only succeed if the segment can be decomposed into at most two XOR-consistent regions that neutralize each other. Prefix XOR structure encodes all such decompositions, and the feasibility conditions exactly correspond to whether such partitions exist. Since every valid sequence of operations corresponds to merging XOR-consistent blocks, and every such merge is detectable via prefix XOR equality checks, the algorithm is both necessary and sufficient.
