Problem Understanding

We start with a connected undirected graph. The graph represents Berlaflot flights, and every edge has a price.

The cost of traveling between two cities is unusual. A route may contain many flights, but its cost is not the sum of edge weights. Instead, it is the maximum edge weight appearing on that route. Among all possible routes between two cities, we take the minimum such value.

For a weighted graph, this quantity is the classical minimax distance.

Now construct the complement graph. Every pair of cities that is not connected by a Berlaflot edge becomes an S8 edge. The weight of an S8 edge (u,v) is exactly the minimax distance between u and v in the original graph.

The complement graph is guaranteed to be connected.

Finally, for every original edge (u,v), we must compute the minimax distance between u and v inside the S8 graph. Those values become the new Berlaflot prices.

The input is a connected graph with up to 200000 vertices and 200000 edges across all test cases. The output requires one answer for every original edge.

The constraints immediately rule out anything close to all-pairs shortest paths. Even storing all pairwise distances would require Θ(n²) memory, which is impossible for n = 200000. Any solution must exploit strong structural properties of minimax distances and graph complements.

A dangerous mistake is to treat minimax distance as an ordinary shortest path problem.

Consider:

The shortest path from 1 to 3 is the direct edge of weight 50, but the minimax distance is also 50, because the alternative path has maximum edge 100. The arithmetic of shortest paths is irrelevant here.

Another easy trap is to explicitly build the complement graph. With n = 200000, the complement can contain almost n²/2 edges. Even iterating over all complement edges is impossible.

A third subtle point is that minimax distances in a graph are completely determined by a minimum spanning tree. Missing this fact leads to algorithms that repeatedly solve path problems in the original graph and become far too slow.

Approaches

Let us first imagine the brute-force solution.

For every pair of vertices, compute the minimax distance in the Berlaflot graph. Use those values to assign weights to all complement edges. Then, for every original edge, compute the minimax distance again inside the complement graph.

This is conceptually straightforward. Unfortunately, the complement graph may contain Θ(n²) edges. Even constructing it is impossible. Computing minimax distances between all pairs would require at least quadratic memory and cubic-style work.

The key observation comes from a classical property of minimax distances.

Take the minimum spanning tree of a weighted graph. For any two vertices u and v, the minimax distance between them equals the maximum edge on the unique MST path between them.

Why is this useful here?

Let T be the MST of the original graph. Every complement edge (u,v) receives weight equal to the maximum edge on the path between u and v in T.

Suppose we process MST edges in increasing order. When an MST edge of weight w joins two components A and B, every pair (a,b) with a∈A, b∈B has minimax distance exactly w.

Among those pairs, some are original graph edges and some are complement edges.

All complement edges created at this moment receive weight w.

This means the entire S8 graph can be described through component merges in the MST, without ever materializing all complement edges.

The next question is how to compute minimax distances inside that complement graph.

Again we use the MST principle. If we can construct an MST of the complement graph, then the answer for an original edge is simply the maximum edge on the corresponding path inside that MST.

The beautiful part is that the complement graph MST can also be built during the same component-merge process. A divide-and-conquer-on-components structure appears naturally. The resulting graph has only O(n log n) auxiliary edges, and a DSU-based Kruskal procedure builds the needed tree efficiently.

The entire solution becomes a sequence of MST constructions and tree queries, all near-linear.

Algorithm Walkthrough

Step 1

Build the minimum spanning tree T of the original graph using Kruskal.

For minimax distances, the original graph can now be replaced entirely by T.

Step 2

Process MST edges in increasing weight order.

When an MST edge of weight w joins components A and B, every pair of vertices whose endpoints lie in different sides obtains minimax distance w.

This is exactly the set of pairs whose LCA in the Kruskal reconstruction tree is the node representing this merge.

Step 3

Construct the Kruskal reconstruction tree of the original graph.

Every merge creates a new node whose value equals the weight of the MST edge used for the merge.

For any two original vertices, the minimax distance in the original graph is the value stored at their LCA in this reconstruction tree.

Step 4

We need to represent all complement edges without enumerating them.

For every merge node with children corresponding to components A and B, all pairs (a,b) with a∈A, b∈B would receive complement-edge weight equal to the merge value, except for pairs that are already original graph edges.

Using DSU-on-tree style set merging, maintain which original graph edges cross each merge. This lets us identify exactly the missing pairs, namely the complement edges.

Step 5

Generate a sparse set of candidate edges for the complement graph MST.

A classical divide-and-conquer argument shows that only O(n log n) such candidate edges are needed. Every complement edge belongs to a merge node of the reconstruction tree, and we connect representatives between appropriate subsets.

The generated edge weight is the merge value.

Step 6

Run Kruskal again on those candidate edges.

This constructs the MST of the S8 graph without ever building the full complement graph.

Let this MST be T₂.

Step 7

Build the Kruskal reconstruction tree of T₂.

Now, for any pair of vertices, the minimax distance in the S8 graph equals the value stored at the LCA of those vertices in this second reconstruction tree.

Step 8

For every original edge (u,v), query the LCA of u and v in the second reconstruction tree.

The stored value at that LCA is exactly the new price required by the statement.

Why it works

The first reconstruction tree encodes all minimax distances in the original graph because minimax distance equals maximum edge on the MST path, and Kruskal reconstruction trees store exactly those maxima as LCA values.

Every complement edge weight is defined by such a minimax distance, so every complement edge corresponds to some merge node in the first reconstruction tree.

The sparse candidate generation preserves all edges that can participate in a minimum spanning tree of the complement graph. Kruskal on those candidates therefore produces the same MST that would be obtained from the full complement graph.

The second reconstruction tree then encodes all minimax distances inside the S8 graph. Querying the LCA for each original edge endpoint pair returns precisely the minimum possible maximum S8 edge on any route between them, which is the required reformed price.

The accepted implementation is considerably longer than a typical Codeforces solution. The difficult part is not Kruskal itself but generating the complement MST without enumerating complement edges.

The reconstruction tree is the central object. Each merge node stores a weight and becomes the parent of the two components being merged. After preprocessing binary lifting tables, every minimax-distance query reduces to a single LCA lookup.

The complement graph cannot be built explicitly. The accepted solution instead derives all MST-relevant complement edges directly from the merge structure of the first reconstruction tree. Small-to-large set merging keeps the complexity under control.

Edge Cases

Consider a tree.

The original graph already equals its MST. A solution that attempts to use shortest-path logic instead of minimax logic will derive incorrect complement-edge weights. The reconstruction tree correctly assigns values 2, 3, and 3 to the complement edges.
