Each jump has a fixed base length d, but the frog is allowed a tolerance k, so any jump length in the range [d - k, d + k] is valid. The frog may jump left or right, but only between rocks, not arbitrary positions on the line.
For each query, we are asked whether the frog can reach a target rock from the starting rock using any number of such valid jumps.
The key difficulty is that the allowed jump range depends on the query, so we cannot precompute a single graph. Each query effectively defines a different graph over the same vertices.
The constraints push us toward something that avoids per-query graph construction. With up to 200,000 rocks and 200,000 queries, any approach that explores reachable states per query would fail. Even a BFS over all rocks per query leads to O(nq), which is far too large.
A subtle but important structural fact is that rocks lie on a line. This turns the problem into reasoning about intervals and connectivity rather than arbitrary graph traversal.
A few failure cases clarify what naive approaches miss. First, it is tempting to assume that if the target is within some global range from the start, it is reachable. This is wrong because intermediate rocks may be required as stepping stones. Second, it is tempting to think reachability depends only on parity or distance modulo something fixed, but because k changes per query, connectivity itself changes dramatically.
For example, consider a configuration where gaps are large except one chain of small gaps. With small k, movement is fragmented; with larger k, previously isolated segments merge. Any correct solution must capture this dynamic connectivity.

A direct approach models each query as a graph: connect two rocks if their distance lies in [d-k, d+k], then run BFS from s to i. The graph is simple to define but expensive to construct. Even if we avoid full adjacency lists and instead scan all pairs implicitly, each BFS still costs O(n), leading to O(nq).
The key observation is that we do not need the exact path. We only need to know whether the connected component of s contains i. Since rocks are sorted on a line, connectivity is governed by whether we can traverse adjacent rocks using allowed jump lengths. If a jump can bridge a gap between consecutive connected regions, those regions merge. Thus, the problem reduces to dynamic connectivity in a 1D metric space.
For a fixed k, define an edge between any pair of rocks whose distance lies in [d-k, d+k]. However, instead of explicitly building edges, we observe that connectivity is equivalent to being able to move through a sequence of rocks where each consecutive pair lies within the allowed distance range. This is essentially a graph where edges are implicit and defined by distance constraints.
We can process a query efficiently by binary searching over reachability using a two-pointer expansion from the starting index. Since movement is symmetric, reachable nodes form a contiguous closure under repeated interval expansion: once we reach a range of indices, we try to expand left and right as long as there exists a valid jump from any node in the current range.
To avoid recomputing from scratch per query, we precompute nearest reachable boundaries using a two-pointer or union-find style construction over sorted distances for each possible threshold. However, since k varies per query, we instead precompute for each position the structure of jumps using sorted edges implicitly and answer queries by binary searching over edge thresholds. This leads to a standard offline solution where edges are sorted by distance, and we activate them in increasing order of threshold, maintaining DSU connectivity.
The crucial insight is that a jump is valid iff its distance is at most d+k and at least d-k. Since distances are positive, we can split this into two monotone conditions handled via sorting and sweep. For a fixed threshold T = d + k, we ensure all edges with distance ≤ T are available, but we must exclude edges with distance < d - k. This is handled by maintaining two DSUs or a sliding activation window over edge lengths.
In practice, we sort all adjacent differences, and use a DSU with offline queries sorted by k. For each query, we activate edges whose length is within the allowed interval and test connectivity between s and i.

Edge Cases

Another case is when k is extremely large, making all edges valid.
