Problem Understanding
We have a function over 2K bits. Every input x can be split into two halves:
a = lowKBits(x)b = highKBits(x)
The function must be represented as
$$F(x)=L[a]\ &\ M[b]$$
where L and M are lookup tables of size 2^K, and & is bitwise AND.
Instead of specifying the value of F everywhere, the input gives several intervals of consecutive numbers. Every number inside interval [l_i,r_i] must evaluate to the same 16-bit value v_i. Outside those intervals we may return anything.
The task is to construct two tables L and M satisfying all requirements, or prove that no such tables exist.
The first thing to notice is that the domain size is enormous. When K = 16, the function has 2^32 possible inputs. We clearly cannot reason about individual numbers.
The lookup tables themselves are much smaller. Each table has size at most 2^16 = 65536, which is perfectly manageable. The total number of table entries is at most 131072.
The number of constraints is up to 2·10^5. Any algorithm that explicitly expands intervals into all covered numbers is impossible. Even one interval may contain almost 2^32 values.
The structure of the representation is the key. Every input corresponds to a pair (a,b), and
$$F(a,b)=L[a]&M[b].$$
This turns the problem into a constraint system on a 2^K × 2^K grid.
A subtle difficulty comes from overlapping intervals.
Consider:
K = 1
[0,1] -> 1
[1,2] -> 3
Number 1 belongs to both intervals, so it would require both value 1 and value 3. The instance is immediately impossible.
A solution that processes constraints independently without checking consistency would miss this contradiction.
Another subtle case is when two constraints force a certain bit to be simultaneously zero and one.
Suppose some rectangle requires bit j equal to 1. Then every participating row and column must keep that bit available. If another constraint later forces the same cell to have bit j = 0, the contradiction may only appear after combining information from several intervals. Local checks are insufficient.
The challenge is to compress interval constraints into manageable graph constraints.
Approaches
A brute force view is useful for understanding the structure.
Imagine the complete matrix
$$G[a][b] = F(a,b).$$
There are 2^K possible row indices and 2^K possible column indices.
Every interval constraint covers a set of cells in this matrix. If we explicitly materialized all cells, we could determine the required value of every position and then try to factor the matrix into
$$G[a][b]=L[a]&M[b].$$
The matrix size is
$$2^K \times 2^K = 2^{2K}.$$
For K=16, that is over four billion cells, completely impossible.
The crucial observation is that bitwise AND acts independently on each bit.
For a fixed output bit, every table entry either contains that bit or does not. Let
$$A_a \in {0,1}$$
describe whether row a keeps the bit, and
$$B_b \in {0,1}$$
describe whether column b keeps the bit.
Then the output bit at cell (a,b) becomes
$$A_a \land B_b.$$
So the original 16-bit problem decomposes into sixteen independent Boolean problems.
Now consider one output bit.
Cells requiring bit 1 force
$$A_a = 1,\quad B_b = 1.$$
Cells requiring bit 0 force
$$A_a \land B_b = 0.$$
This is equivalent to a bipartite graph problem. Rows and columns are vertices. A cell demanding 0 creates an edge that forbids both endpoints from simultaneously being 1.
The remaining challenge is representing interval constraints without expanding all covered cells.
A number interval [l,r] corresponds to a rectangle union in the (row,column) grid. Using the standard binary interval decomposition, any range can be represented by O(K) canonical segments. Combining decompositions of the high-half and low-half coordinates turns every interval into O(K^2) canonical rectangles.
A two-dimensional segment-tree construction gives a graph with only O(2^K K) nodes instead of billions of cells. Constraints become edges between segment-tree nodes.
After building this compressed graph, each bit can be solved independently using propagation.

Geometric interpretation
Let
$$x = b\cdot 2^K + a.$$
The lower K bits form the column index a, and the upper K bits form the row index b.
Every interval [l,r] becomes a region in a 2^K × 2^K grid.
We never build the grid explicitly. Instead we represent row ranges and column ranges by nodes of segment trees.
Canonical rectangles
Step 1
Build one segment tree over all row indices and another over all column indices.
Every contiguous range can be decomposed into O(K) segment-tree nodes.
Step 2
Convert each interval [l,r] into a collection of canonical rectangles.
The interval may cross row boundaries. Splitting it by rows yields O(K) row ranges and O(K) column ranges.
Combining both decompositions gives O(K²) rectangles per interval.
Each rectangle is represented by one row-segment node and one column-segment node.
Solving one output bit
Step 3
Process only a single output bit.
For every rectangle whose required value contains this bit, mark the rectangle as a "one rectangle".
For every rectangle whose required value does not contain this bit, mark it as a "zero rectangle".
Step 4
Every one rectangle forces all rows and columns participating in it to have value 1.
Using the segment-tree hierarchy, propagate this requirement from rectangle nodes down to leaves.
Any row leaf or column leaf reached by such propagation is permanently assigned 1.
Step 5
For every zero rectangle, add a bipartite constraint forbidding both endpoints from simultaneously being 1.
Conceptually this represents
$$A_a \land B_b = 0.$$
The compressed graph stores these restrictions between segment-tree nodes.
Step 6
After all mandatory ones are known, propagate them through the graph.
If some zero constraint connects two vertices already forced to 1, we have a contradiction and the bit is impossible.
Otherwise every unassigned vertex may safely remain 0.

Repeat the procedure independently for all sixteen bits.

Why it works
For a fixed bit, every output value is either zero or one. A cell evaluates to one exactly when both participating table entries contain that bit.
All constraints involving different bits are independent because bitwise AND operates separately on each bit position.
The segment-tree decomposition preserves exactly the set of cells covered by every interval. A rectangle marked as one forces every participating row and column to carry that bit. A rectangle marked as zero forbids simultaneously selecting both endpoints. These are precisely the logical consequences of the equation
$$A_a \land B_b.$$
Propagation computes the smallest assignment containing all forced ones. If a contradiction appears, no assignment exists. Otherwise assigning every remaining vertex to zero satisfies every zero constraint and all one constraints remain satisfied. Repeating this independently for all sixteen bits yields a complete valid factorization whenever one exists.

The official implementation is unusually long for a Codeforces problem because it combines interval decomposition, two segment trees, a compressed bipartite constraint graph, and sixteen independent bit propagations.
The key implementation idea is that intervals are never expanded into individual cells. Every interval is decomposed into canonical rectangles, and constraints are attached to segment-tree nodes. Propagation then works entirely on the compressed structure.
A common mistake is trying to process every value inside an interval. Even a single interval may contain billions of numbers when K = 16.
Another frequent source of bugs is mixing row and column coordinates. The upper K bits determine the row index, while the lower K bits determine the column index. Reversing them silently produces incorrect rectangle decompositions.

The rectangle decomposition reduces to a single leaf row and single leaf column. Only those two table entries are affected. All other entries remain free. The algorithm handles this naturally without any special cases.

A naive implementation might incorrectly treat it as one rectangle. The algorithm first splits the interval into canonical row pieces and then decomposes each piece into canonical rectangles. The resulting union exactly matches the original interval, so every constrained cell is represented and no unconstrained cell is accidentally included.
