We are building an array of length $n$, where each position stores an integer with at most $k$ bits. On top of that, we are given several constraints, each describing a segment $[l, r]$ and a required value for the bitwise AND of all elements in that segment. The task is to count how many arrays satisfy every such segment constraint simultaneously.
The central difficulty is that each constraint couples many positions together through a bitwise AND, and different constraints overlap arbitrarily. A naive view treats each array as a global object, but the structure is actually local per bit: every bit position behaves independently under AND constraints, since AND operates bit by bit.
The constraints are large: $n, m \le 5 \cdot 10^5$. Any solution that tries to enumerate arrays, or even try all segment assignments, is impossible. Even $O(n \log n)$ or $O(m \log m)$ must be carefully controlled, and anything quadratic in $n$ or $m$ is immediately ruled out.
A subtle failure case for naive reasoning comes from overlapping constraints that conflict only on some bits.
For example, suppose we have $n = 3$, and constraints:
$$[1,2] \text{ AND } = 1,\quad [2,3] \text{ AND } = 2.$$
Bitwise, the first constraint forces at least one zero bit in position 0 across $[1,2]$, while the second forces a different pattern on bit 1 across $[2,3]$. A naive approach that merges constraints as if they were simple interval assignments fails because AND constraints do not propagate like equality constraints.
The correct reasoning must separate bits and treat each bit as a coverage constraint problem on intervals.
Approaches
A brute-force solution would try all $(2^k)^n$ arrays and check all $m$ constraints. Even checking one array costs $O(nm)$ if done naively, so this is completely infeasible. Even restricting to constraint-consistent construction does not help, because dependencies span long intervals and interact.
The key insight is that bit positions are independent. For each bit $b$, we only care whether $a_i$ has that bit set or not. Each constraint $(l, r, x)$ translates into per-bit requirements:
If bit $b$ is 1 in $x$, then every position in $[l, r]$ must have bit $b$ equal to 1, because an AND is 1 only if all bits are 1. If bit $b$ is 0 in $x$, then at least one position in $[l, r]$ must have bit $b$ equal to 0, otherwise the AND would incorrectly become 1.
So for each bit, constraints become a system where some intervals enforce “all ones” and others enforce “not all ones”. This is exactly a classical interval constraint system that can be handled with segment coverage logic and counting free choices.
We process each bit independently, then multiply results across bits.
For a fixed bit, we mark intervals that force ones. These can be merged using a sweep or segment coverage structure, producing forced 1 regions. Once forced ones are fixed, remaining constraints require that in certain ranges there exists at least one zero. This becomes equivalent to ensuring that every “zero-required interval” is not completely covered by forced ones.
We convert forced ones into a complement structure: positions not forced to 1 are free variables, and constraints ensure that each zero-required interval contains at least one free position. This is a classic “hitting set on a line” count, which can be solved with DP using next-valid transitions.
The DP counts assignments of free positions such that every interval has at least one chosen zero-position.
The final answer is the product over bits.

Algorithm Walkthrough
We process each bit independently from 0 to $k-1$.
- For a fixed bit $b$, extract all constraints involving it. If $x_i$ has bit $b$ equal to 1, then every position in $[l_i, r_i]$ must have bit $b = 1$. We mark these positions as forced ones using a difference array.
- After applying all “forced 1” constraints, we compute the final forced state of each position using prefix sums. Any position not forced is considered free and can potentially be 0 or 1, but only 0 contributes to satisfying zero-requirements.
- For constraints where bit $b$ of $x_i$ is 0, we record them as intervals that require at least one zero in $[l_i, r_i]$. Since forced-1 positions cannot be zero, only free positions can satisfy this requirement.
- We compress the array into segments of consecutive free positions. Each segment becomes a block of independent binary choices.
- We transform each zero-requirement interval into an interval over segment indices, effectively requiring at least one selected “zero-capable” position in that segment range.
- We run a DP over segments from left to right. Let $dp[i]$ be the number of valid assignments up to segment $i$. To compute transitions, we track for each interval its right endpoint and ensure that at least one chosen zero-position lies inside it. This is handled using a next-violation pointer and prefix accumulation.
- The result for this bit is the number of valid assignments modulo $998244353$.
- Multiply results across all bits.
Why it works
Each bit of the array evolves independently because AND is computed bitwise. For a fixed bit, constraints separate into two types: forced-1 intervals and at-least-one-zero intervals. Forced-1 constraints only restrict the state, never introduce coupling beyond marking positions. The remaining constraints become a covering condition on a line, where every forbidden interval must contain at least one zero-position. The DP enumerates exactly all ways to place zeros so that no interval is fully covered by ones, ensuring every constraint is satisfied. Independence across bits guarantees multiplication is valid.

Edge Cases
A critical edge case occurs when a bit is forced to 1 on a full interval, and simultaneously a zero requirement exists inside the same interval. In that situation, after propagation there are no free positions inside the interval, so the constraint cannot be satisfied. A naive implementation that applies zero constraints before propagating forced ones would incorrectly assume feasibility.
Another edge case appears when all positions become forced for a given bit. Any zero-requirement interval immediately becomes either trivially satisfied or impossible depending on whether it contains a free position. If none exist, the correct answer contribution for that bit is exactly 1 if consistent, otherwise 0. This distinction is easy to lose if the DP assumes at least one free variable always exists.
A third edge case arises when constraints overlap heavily but only partially restrict the array. Treating overlaps as independent leads to overcounting, since the correct structure depends on shared forced segments rather than individual intervals.
