Problem Understanding
We are given an array of values, and each query asks us to evaluate a very specific symmetric polynomial built from a transformed version of that array.
For a fixed number $q$, we first convert every element $a_i$ into $b_i = q - a_i$. Then we look at all ways of picking $K$ distinct indices and multiplying the corresponding $b$-values together. The query answer is the sum of all such products.
So the function we evaluate is exactly the $K$-th elementary symmetric sum of the multiset ${q-a_1, \dots, q-a_N}$. The twist is that the array changes temporarily per query, either by replacing a single element or by adding a value to a whole segment, and each query must be answered independently from the original array state.
The constraints are small in number of queries but large in array size. With $N \le 2 \cdot 10^4$, any approach that is $O(NK)$ per query is already too slow when multiplied by combinatorial structure inside the function. More importantly, the function itself is not something that can be recomputed by enumerating tuples, since that would be $O(\binom{N}{K} K)$, which is impossible even for small $K$.
The key difficulty is that we are repeatedly asked to compute a global symmetric polynomial under local modifications of the underlying values.
A few edge cases matter for correctness.
If $K = 1$, the answer is simply $\sum (q - a_i)$, so any algorithm that still tries to use convolution machinery must reduce correctly to a linear sum.
If all $a_i$ are equal and we apply a range increment, the distribution of values is uniform, so correctness depends entirely on handling multiplicities correctly rather than positions.
If $K = N$, the answer is a single product of all transformed values. Any combinatorial expansion must still collapse cleanly into this case.
Approaches
A direct approach would enumerate all $K$-subsets of indices and compute products of transformed values. This is correct because it follows the definition literally, but it requires computing $\binom{N}{K}$ terms per query, which grows exponentially in $K$. Even for moderate $K$, this becomes infeasible.
A slightly better view is to recognize that we are computing elementary symmetric polynomials. These can be computed via DP in $O(NK)$ using the standard recurrence where each element updates the polynomial coefficients. However, doing this per query is still too slow, especially since each query modifies the array and would require recomputation.
The crucial observation is that each query does not ask for a different structure of computation, only for a different evaluation point $q$ and a slightly modified multiset of values. The function depends only on the multiset of values, not their order.
This suggests compressing the array into a frequency distribution and maintaining how symmetric polynomials change under shifts and replacements. The deeper structure is that the answer is a coefficient in a generating polynomial:
$$\prod_{i=1}^{N} (1 + b_i x)$$
and we need the coefficient of $x^K$.
So the problem becomes maintaining the $K$-truncated product of linear polynomials under updates of the form $b_i \to b_i + \Delta$ or $b_i \to c$.
This is where divide-and-conquer over values and convolution enters. We maintain a segment tree over the array where each node stores a polynomial representing the product of its segment up to degree $K$. Combining two segments is a convolution, truncated at degree $K$, which is efficiently computed using FFT/NTT-like techniques under modulus $998244353$.
Updates affect only a segment or a single point, so we recompute only affected segment tree nodes, each recombination costing $O(K \log K)$ with NTT-based multiplication.

Algorithm Walkthrough

Why it works
The segment tree invariant is that each node stores the exact generating polynomial of its segment, truncated to degree $K$. Merging nodes corresponds exactly to multiplication of generating functions because selecting $K$ elements from a union decomposes uniquely into selecting a split between left and right segments. Since multiplication of generating functions encodes exactly this combinatorial decomposition, the root polynomial always encodes the correct symmetric sums.
