Approaches

The key insight is to reverse the perspective. Instead of thinking about which buildings to delete, we think about constructing the visible sequence directly. The visible buildings form a strictly increasing sequence of heights as we move left to right. Every visible building is a new maximum, so the visible sequence is exactly the sequence of prefix maxima in the chosen subsequence.
Now consider building L. If we decide it is the K-th visible building, then there must be exactly K-1 visible buildings before it in the left segment, and at least 0 visible buildings after it. The prefix part is independent of the suffix except for the height constraint imposed by h[L], because once L is included, future visible buildings must exceed h[L].
This leads to a dynamic programming structure centered at L: we compute how many ways (or minimal deletions) to choose K-1 increasing maxima from the left side, ending with something less than h[L], and then ensure L itself is included. Algorithm Walkthrough
We split the array into two parts around L: left side [1 .. L-1] and right side [L+1 .. N]. We compute how many visible elements we can pick in each part while controlling how many deletions are needed.
