We are given a multiset of cards, where each card has an integer label called a quirk number. From this initial collection, we want to end up with a very strict final collection: it must contain exactly one card of each quirk number from 1 up to some chosen value K, and nothing else. That means two things simultaneously. First, every integer in the range 1 to K must be present exactly once. Second, we are not allowed to keep any card whose value is outside this range.
We are allowed to modify our collection in two ways. We can “buy” any missing quirk number at cost B per card. We can also “trade in” any existing card to transform it into a different quirk number at cost A per operation. Trading keeps the number of cards unchanged, while buying increases count, but the final requirement forces the number of cards to match K anyway, so effectively every card must end up becoming a distinct value in 1..K.
The real goal is to choose K and decide which existing cards to keep, which to transform, and which implied target values to buy, so that the final structure is a perfect prefix permutation of 1..K with minimum cost.
The constraints go up to N ≤ 10^5 and values up to 10^6, so any solution that tries every K with expensive recomputation would be too slow. A quadratic scan over possible K or repeated frequency rebuilding would lead to about 10^10 operations in the worst case, which is not feasible in one second.

For example, if we have many copies of a single value, it might be better to trade extras rather than buy missing numbers, or vice versa depending on whether A is larger than B. Approaches
A naive approach is to fix a target K and then compute the cost of transforming the current multiset into exactly {1, 2, ..., K}. For each K, we would count how many of 1..K we already have, how many are missing, and how many extra cards must be “converted” into needed values. If we simulate this independently for each K, each computation costs O(N), and doing it for all K up to N gives O(N^2), which is about 10^10 operations at worst, clearly too slow.
The key observation is that the structure of the problem is monotonic in K. As K increases by 1, we only add one new required value. This means we can maintain running information about how many distinct required values we already satisfy, and how many cards are “wasted” or “extra”. The cost structure becomes linear if we track frequencies and gradually extend K.
Another important simplification comes from the trade rule. Each existing card can either be kept if it matches the target set, or converted at cost A. But if a value is missing, we can either convert an extra card or buy a new one. This creates a per-value decision: for each number in 1..K, we need exactly one copy, and we choose the cheapest way to obtain it: either from an existing unused card (via trading chain), or by buying directly.
This leads to the classic greedy viewpoint: we scan K from 1 upward, maintaining how many “surplus” cards we currently have that can be repurposed, and at each step decide whether to use surplus or pay B. If surplus is used, it costs A; if not, we pay B. The best strategy depends only on how many surplus cards we have accumulated so far.
Thus the problem reduces to tracking frequency of values and maintaining a growing prefix requirement, while always using the cheapest available source for each needed position.

Algorithm Walkthrough
We first compress the input into a frequency map of quirk numbers. This tells us how many “already correct” items we have for any value.
Then we simulate building the target set 1, 2, 3, … in order.
- Sort or otherwise iterate values in increasing order of required quirk number from 1 upward, maintaining how many usable cards we have that can be assigned.
- Maintain a variable
surplus, representing cards we have that are not needed at their original position but can be converted into something else. - For each value i starting from 1 upward, check whether we already have at least one card with value i in the input frequency table. If yes, we use it and increase surplus by (frequency[i] - 1), because only one copy is consumed as “naturally matched” and the rest become flexible resources.
- If frequency[i] is zero, we must obtain it from somewhere else. If surplus > 0, we use one surplus card and pay cost A to convert it into value i. Otherwise we must buy it directly at cost B.
- Accumulate cost for each i and continue until it becomes optimal to stop. Since adding larger K always adds at least B cost or A cost, we stop once continuing is not beneficial, which in implementation is handled by iterating up to a safe bound.
- The answer is the minimum cost observed over all prefixes.
The key invariant is that at step i, surplus correctly represents exactly the number of previously seen extra cards that can still be reassigned without violating uniqueness constraints for 1..i−1. Every time we proceed to i, we optimally decide whether to consume surplus or pay directly, and no future decision depends on how we resolve earlier ones except through surplus size.
The correctness follows because each value i is independent once we fix how many reusable extras we have; the greedy choice at each step minimizes cost locally and preserves feasibility for future steps.
