Algorithm Walkthrough

The rerooting DP ensures that every possible root is considered exactly once, and each transition preserves correctness of distance sums and gcd relationships induced by tree edge transformations. Since every distance in a tree changes linearly when shifting root, the aggregate sum is maintained exactly, and gcd is preserved through consistent transformation of the underlying distance set.
