An anti-chain-valid group corresponds to selecting nodes that do not overlap in subtree intervals, which is equivalent to choosing nodes whose subtree intervals are disjoint, so no node is an ancestor of another.
This turns the problem into covering all nodes using the minimum number of either path-like structures or antichain-like structures.
