The constraints allow up to $10^5$ mirrors and $10^5$ queries, with coordinates up to $10^5$. This immediately rules out any simulation that walks the ray step by step across grid cells, since a single ray can travel a very large distance before hitting the next mirror, and even worse, may revisit states many times in cycles. From the current position and direction, we would scan the grid until we find the next mirror, update the direction according to its type, and repeat. In the worst case, a ray can bounce between mirrors many times, and each movement can require scanning large coordinate gaps. This easily degenerates into quadratic or worse behavior over all queries.
The key observation is that the system is deterministic once we are at a mirror with a direction. From a state defined by “current mirror and incoming direction”, the next mirror and next direction are uniquely determined. This turns the problem into a directed graph over states. Each state has exactly one outgoing edge, leading to either another state or termination.
What remains is efficiently computing the first mirror hit from any starting point in a given direction. This can be done using ordered structures per row and column: for each x-coordinate we store mirrors sorted by y, and for each y-coordinate we store mirrors sorted by x. That allows jumping directly to the next mirror in $O(\log n)$.
Once the graph is built, each query becomes: start from a virtual state, jump to the first mirror, then follow deterministic transitions until we reach termination or detect a cycle. Cycle detection is handled by memoization over states.

- We define a transition from a state (mirror, incoming direction) to (next mirror, new direction after reflection). The new direction is determined by the mirror type A or B, which acts as a fixed mapping from incoming direction to outgoing direction.
- We perform memoized DFS on these states. Each state is marked as unvisited, visiting, or solved. If during DFS we revisit a visiting state, we have detected a cycle and mark all states in that cycle as infinite (-1).
- For each query, we first compute the first mirror hit from the starting position and direction using the precomputed row/column maps. If none exists, we output 0.
- Otherwise, we convert this into an initial state and return the memoized result of that state, which is either a terminal mirror id or -1.
The crucial property is that every state has exactly one outgoing transition, so the graph is a functional graph. This guarantees that DFS with cycle detection fully classifies every state as either leading to termination or belonging to a cycle.
