Occasionally we are asked a hypothetical question: if we draw a line through the origin and a given direction point, how many additional points would we need to add so that the current set becomes perfectly symmetric with respect to that line.
Symmetry here means that for every point currently in the set, its mirror reflection across the given line must also belong to the set. We are not allowed to remove points for this operation, only add missing mirrored counterparts. Each query of type three is independent, so we evaluate symmetry based only on the current set at that moment, without permanently modifying it.
The constraint of up to 200,000 queries, with up to 100,000 active set modifications and up to 100,000 symmetry queries, forces us into a fully dynamic solution. Any approach that recomputes reflections for all points per query would be far too slow because even a single symmetry check would require iterating over the entire set.
A naive solution would, for each query of type three, iterate over all points in the set and compute their reflections. The reflection of a point across a line through the origin depends on projection onto the direction vector, and checking membership requires a hash set. Even if membership is O(1), we still pay O(n) per query, which leads to about 10¹⁰ operations in the worst case, which is not feasible.
A more subtle issue appears when points lie on the symmetry axis. Points exactly on the line reflect to themselves, so they do not contribute to missing pairs. A careless implementation might still count them incorrectly if it does not explicitly detect collinearity with the direction vector.
Another edge case is duplicated directional queries. Since each query uses a different symmetry axis, any preprocessing tied to a fixed direction is useless. The solution must recompute or efficiently query geometry relative to arbitrary directions.
Approaches
The brute-force approach treats each symmetry query independently. We fix a direction vector v = (x, y), normalize it in some consistent way, and for each point p in the set, compute its reflection p'. If p' is not in the set, we increment the answer. This is correct because each missing mirrored point corresponds to one required insertion.
The failure point is performance. Each query scans the entire set, and with up to 10⁵ points and 10⁵ queries, this becomes quadratic.
The key observation is that reflection across a line through the origin preserves the component along the direction vector and flips the orthogonal component. This suggests a coordinate transformation: instead of working in standard coordinates, we project every point into a coordinate system defined by the query direction. In that rotated frame, symmetry becomes a simple sign flip on one axis.
This means that for a fixed query direction, every point can be mapped to a scalar coordinate along the perpendicular direction, and symmetry reduces to pairing values +t and −t. The number of insertions needed is exactly the number of unpaired occurrences in this 1D multiset view.
The challenge is that directions vary per query, so we cannot maintain a global transformed structure. However, we can exploit the fact that each query direction is defined by a primitive integer vector, and we can normalize directions to avoid duplicates and reuse computed projections within a query efficiently.
Within a single query, we compute a normalized basis (dx, dy) and its perpendicular (-dy, dx). Each point is projected onto this perpendicular axis, producing a scalar value. We then count frequencies and match t with -t.

Algorithm Walkthrough
We process queries online, maintaining the current set of points in a hash set.
For each type three query, we construct a direction vector (x, y). We reduce it by dividing by gcd(x, y) so that all collinear directions share a canonical representation. We then build a perpendicular direction (-y, x).
We then project every point (px, py) in the current set onto this perpendicular axis. The projection value is the cross product:
t = px * y - py * x
This value is zero exactly when the point lies on the symmetry axis.
We store all non-zero t values in a frequency map. For each t, we pair it with -t. Each unmatched occurrence contributes one needed insertion.

Why it works
The cross product maps all points onto a one-dimensional axis perpendicular to the query line. Two points are mirror images across the line if and only if their cross-product values are negatives of each other while sharing identical projection along the line. Since we only care about existence and not actual coordinates of added points, pairing by opposite values exactly counts missing reflections. Points with zero projection lie on the axis and are self-symmetric, so they never contribute to missing pairs. This reduces the geometric symmetry condition into a multiset pairing problem over integers.

The implementation keeps the active point set in a Python set so that updates remain O(1). For each query, we recompute the symmetry projection directly from the current set. The normalization step ensures that identical lines do not produce inconsistent projections.
The cross product computation is the core geometric primitive. It avoids floating-point arithmetic entirely and keeps everything in integers, which is necessary because coordinates can be large.
A subtle point is that we only iterate over keys once and compare positive values with their negatives, which prevents double counting. Zero values are ignored since they lie exactly on the symmetry axis.

Edge Cases
A critical edge case is when all points lie exactly on the symmetry line. In that case, every cross product evaluates to zero, so the frequency map contains only a zero bucket. The algorithm correctly returns zero because no pairing is needed and no positive or negative keys exist.
Another case is when the set is empty. The projection map is empty, and the algorithm immediately returns zero without entering the pairing logic.
